With the 59 oil exploration blocks sold yesterday, the IBP foresees massive investments, job creation and revenue for the states

379 blocks were offered in the 3rd Round of the Permanent Offer carried out by the ANP yesterday

Rio de Janeiro, March 13, 2022 – The IBP evaluates as positive the result of the 3rd Round of the Permanent Offer, conducted by the ANP, for the bidding of blocks for exploration and production of oil and gas that took place this Wednesday (13). 

The auction raised R$ 422.4 million in signing bonuses. 59 blocks were sold, demonstrating the attractiveness of the model. Highlight for the diversity of actors who bought the blocks on land, consolidating the strength of the activity.  

With this result, the IBP foresees the execution and contracting of voluminous investments and, consequently, generation of employment, income, foreign exchange and tax revenue for government entities. 

In this context, the IBP recognizes an attractive business environment for investments, where the country can take advantage of the current window of opportunity, which will contribute to energy security in a period of transition to a low carbon economy. 

The IBP also highlights the work done by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) in formulating public policies to improve the attractiveness of areas and the important role of the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) in planning and promoting of Permanent Offer Bids.
