Last Tuesday (19/04), the Porto do Açu port complex announced its new venture with the Cubo Itaú technology hub. Now, the port becomes the first to join the business and stated that it will focus on innovation and digitalization for an even more efficient and profitable logistics operations over the next few years in partnership with the technology hub.
Porto do Açu becomes the first port enterprise to join Cubo Itaú and develop new digitalization and innovation solutions in cargo handling activities
Cubo Itaú is the most important hub for technological ventures in all of Latin America and has companies from different segments that seek innovative solutions in their sectors. Now, Porto do Açu has become the first port complex to join the technological hub and, with that, it may have new possibilities to make the digitalization of its logistics processes in cargo transport and storage operations throughout 2022.
In addition, the companies' partnership also has the main objective of stimulating a culture of innovation in the community surrounding the port development located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In this way, Porto do Açu intends to achieve an exponential growth of the port with efficiency, transparency, predictability, safety and protection of the environment, becoming increasingly modern and adhering to digitalization in its logistics chain of export and import of cargo.
The adhesion of Porto do Açu to the Cubo Itaú technological innovation hub also included the creation of a roadmap of initiatives with the support of specialized consultants and with a benchmark with the largest global ports, such as Antwerp, Belgium. Thus, the port intends to invest in the modernization and digitalization of its infrastructure and in the optimization of its operations, in addition to having in mind a technological training project aimed at the employees who work in the complex, with the aim of ensuring greater knowledge about the solutions innovation that will be adopted for cargo transport and storage operations.

Cubo Itaú intends, in partnership with Porto do Açu, to make the port complex even more efficient in its operations over the next few years, through the development of an adequate space for the development and application of innovation and digitalization solutions in the operations logistics. Thus, a commission specialized in projects in this segment will be created, so that the port can discuss the best growth strategies with operational and environmental safety.
