More than 50,000 barrels of oil and 4 million cubic meters of gas begin to be processed

[supsystic-social-sharing id='1′]Petrobras and its partners Shell, Total, CNPC and CNOOC started, this Sunday (26/11/2017), production in the Libra block, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos, with the start-up of the FPSO Pioneiro de Libra (a floating unit that produces, stores and transfers oil), dedicated to Long-Term Tests and Early Production Systems. This is the first Petrobras unit equipped to inject all the gas produced during the tests. So far, 12 wells have been drilled in the Libra block. Due to its magnitude, production potential, good oil quality and high commercial value, Libra opens up a new business opportunity in the offshore industry.

Pioneiro de Libra has the capacity to process up to 50,000 barrels of oil and 4 million cubic meters of associated gas daily. With an expected duration of one year, the Long-Term Test aims to evaluate the behavior of the oil reservoir and expand knowledge of the characteristics of the deposit.

Bearing in mind that from 2018 onwards, the process of acquiring platforms for pre-salt production begins, and Jornal Nacional even made a story last week with this theme. 20 offshore units will arrive in Brazil, which will generate around 500,000 jobs in the entire oil production chain, directly and indirectly.
