Realizing that the oil and gas sector will prove to be favorable in the coming years, Odebrecht Óleo e Gás changes its name to attract investment

[supsystic-social-sharing id='1′]A Odebrecht Oil and Gas spoke yesterday(15) on social media and in the communication vehicles that it has now changed its corporate name, now it is called Ocyan. This move was a radical move the company took to detach its brand from corruption scandals and attract new investors. The statement was made on the same day to the company's employees as well.   In addition to the oil and gas subsidiary, other companies in the group also changed their name: A Odebrecht Agroindustrial now it's called actives and the Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias, is called by NOW. Braskem made only subtle changes to its brand identification logo: it removed the red color.

Due to the financial situation of Petrobras in 2015, the state-owned company at the time ended up canceling the contract for the drillship ODN Tay IV with Odebrecht Oil & Gas, which would be responsible for its charter and which would also guarantee an extra bonus on its revenues. Aware that the offshore scenario over the next few years will be totally favourable, the Ocyan now it's running out of time to consolidate the company, set up new partnerships and increase its customer base.

Ocyan's plans for 2018

  • Initially, his intention is to make investments in a very conservative way, focusing first on the gas modality
  • In 2018, it intends to return to the Petrobras supplier registration system
  • Get contracts to charter the Norbe VI offshore unit
  • Get more subsea construction contracts

Its intention to spend in this first wave is around 400 million reais. Remembering that it still owes its creditors more than 2.95 billion reais, this debt should reach 2.6 billion by the end of 2022, according to Ocyan.
