WEG, one of the largest manufacturers of turbines and electric motors in the world, was selected to supply the generators for HPP São Roque, located in Vargem/SC. Recently, the Ruhrpumpen, one of the main manufacturers of pump systems in the world, chose WEG to supply and install the engines for the Ramal do Agreste project, one of the main water works in Brazil, which will bring water to about 70 municipalities in the state of Pernambuco..
The generators are one of the most important parts of the project and, for HPP São Roque, WEG supplied three SLW 4000 hydrogenerators with unit power of 50.5 MVA, 13.8 kV and 180 rpm, including their auxiliary equipment.
With 285 tons and approximately eight meters in diameter each, these equipments are among the largest electric hydrogenerators ever produced by WEG. With specialized engineering and vertical manufacturing, equipment is developed and produced to fully meet the needs and requirements of customers.
