Figures released by the Ministry of Labor show that Macaé is back to hiring driven by the reheating of the oil and gas sector

Macaé manages for the second time to rescue a positive balance in the generation of job vacancies in these last 3 years of crisis, this is a relief and shows that the oil and gas sector in the city is beginning to mobilize, but has not yet returned to full normality. The General Employment and Unemployment Registry (Caged) provided data from the Ministry of Labor in which 678 jobs were created in the municipality in February, about 80% directly linked to the offshore and onshore branch of companies linked to this sector.

According to Caged, the engineering and technical areas in operational activities were responsible for most of the hiring, showing that business is being done and contracts are being signed with firms that have operational bases in Macaé. According to the institution, based on the year 2015, it is the first time that the balance between jobs and unemployment is positive.

In January of this year, the balance was negative with 178 fewer opportunities, in February there were 678, that is, the first two months closed with 500 registered vacancies. However, the moment is still delicate and there are still reservations about the performance, in economic terms, in the city in terms of employability.

At least the forecasts (some of them are already being fulfilled) are totally favorable for Macaé: Some of them are:

According to industry experts and even in Jornal Nacional (Check it out here), 500,000 jobs in the oil sector will be created until 2022 and another 250 thousand jobs, in the period in which the foreign operators will develop projects to guarantee productivity in the acquired areas, and the areas with the greatest interest are in the Campos Basin, and the city that already has all the infrastructure ready to this is MACAE.
