Sao Paulo, April 2022 – Hydroseeding is undoubtedly the best option for covering bare soils through the use of fast-growing plant species. This is because the technology used, instead of placing grass plates on slopes or works, "paint" the soil through a blasting and mixing equipment. 

What has defined hydroseeding as the “darling” of agro and road, urban, railway and mining infrastructure companies is precisely because it has a faster and more practical application in the works, eliminating the risks of soil erosion, in addition to covering the vegetation. of works to contain slopes and difficult terrain.

It is estimated that each piece of equipment can plant up to 30,000 m2 of vegetation per day, requiring less than 45 days for lawns, forages or slopes to be covered by strong vegetation. 

This revegetation model consists of the application of a mix of selected seeds of herbaceous species with emphasis on grasses, legumes, chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers, wood fiber mulch and adhesive polymers.

Types of Hydroseeding

  1. net grass – ideal for soils with little susceptibility to erosion and with a maximum slope of 45°. Liquid grass is a hydroseeding process made by blasting a high viscosity solution containing seeds, fertilizers, wood fiber mulch with fixatives and additives. 
  2. Liquid Bioblanket – ideal for damaged soils, with susceptibility to erosion and slope above 45°. It is an innovative process of erosion control and vegetation covering of critical areas. It consists of using the hydroseeding process to apply a high-performance material to the soil made up of wood fiber mulch, water-absorbing polymers and high-performance mineral-based fixatives. This material, together with fertilizers and seeds, when applied, form a mat of interlaced fibers and highly cohesive with the soil. This blanket adheres completely to the soil forming a protective layer and excellent growing medium for seeded vegetation.

And the development of transgenics in high-scale agriculture accelerated the growth of monocultures, as in the case of corn and soybean production. One solution found to solve the challenge is the development of “pollen banks”, planting vegetation with flowering around roads and solar energy farms, for example, which benefit the “feeding” and preservation of pollinators: usually insects such as bees. , flies, butterflies, moths, wasps, beetles and ants, fundamental beings for the future of the next generations.
