In order to promote diversity, GFT has opened internship vacancies and intends to train women in the area of technology through the GFT Start Woman Java program.
GFT, a consultancy focused on technological solutions, has 300 internship vacancies exclusively for cis and trans women. The company plans to expand its women's team at 30%, hiring technology professionals through the GFT Start Woman Java program.
The GFT Start Woman Java program seeks to empower women through leadership development, professional growth, networking events for technology professionals and mentorships.
The program is in partnership with DIO, which aims to professionalize these women, in addition to evolving their knowledge on the most diverse technology fronts, so that these women are increasingly competitive.
The GFT initiative aims to expand the role of women in the area of technology, which is predominantly male-dominated. According to Fernanda Rodrigues, director of human resources in Latin America, “Today, in addition to development and quality of life, employees stay in companies when they feel that they identify with the organization’s culture and values, and we highly value that. We remain focused on generation of jobs and opportunities”.
The objective of offering the bootcamp and hiring women for internship positions in the technology area is just one of the GFT's initiatives to act directly in the training and professional experience of the hired woman.
GFT offers exchange program to its employees
In addition to internships, GFT offers its employees a free exchange program in the United States to study the English language, with the aim of attracting and retaining specialized talent in the area of technology, which is the most sought after workforce in the market currently.
In the exchange offered by GFT, tickets, English course, accommodation and food are paid. The employee continues to receive a salary even though he works reduced hours to reconcile the English course and the job. The exchanges last for two months, so that there is a rotation of people being constantly sent out of the Brazil.
The shortage of manpower in the technology area and the high demand from customers in the country and abroad has made the sector run after innovations in the management of people and benefits. The GFT board seeks to always be ahead of the wishes of its employees.
According to the executive, six employees were lost just in the month for hiring in other countries. In this opening month, GFT reached the milestone of 3 thousand employees in Brazil. “With what's happening in the market, we've come to the conclusion that if we do the bê-á-bá, we're not going to get anywhere. To attract the public, we offer the opportunity to train in English. To retain, we ourselves offer the international opportunity”, he says.
