The “Vietnamese Car Wash” does not forgive and mercilessly condemns the former president who embezzled millions from the country’s main state oil company

[supsystic-social-sharing id='1′]The Lava Jato operations in Brazil gained international repercussion because it became the largest police mobilization in the world against corruption, which primarily had the objective of investigating deviations and arresting corrupt people and corruptors in the Petrobras, the largest and only state-owned company in the country. But oddly enough, in Vietnam there is also a version of this type of operation but they have a very insignificant and almost imperceptible difference: CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT INSTANCES ARE PUNISHED WITH DEATH.
Sounds like utopia, doesn't it? While here (Brazil) these developments never end, in which the more you investigate, the more corruption is discovered, not only in governmental instances but also in the private sector, in Vietnam they are more practical and prefer to cut the evil at the root of a once and for all. Learn more about the story below.

Causes of conviction

Nguyen Xuan Son was president of the state oil company PetroVietnam for many years and was arrested in 2015 for corruption, being accused of embezzlement, intentional violation of oil operator rules and abuse of power. He has pleaded not guilty and will file an appeal to try to escape the “guillotine”.
Vietnam has maintained over the years the retaliation against the corrupt in the financial sector of the country, so much so that they made a collective trial of 51 employees of the company and bankers for embezzling more than R$69 million! In the case of Nguyen Xuan Son, this type of conviction is unprecedented because for the first time, a person of the highest power in the country received the death penalty. Remembering that between the years 2013 to 2016, 429 convicts were sentenced to death in the country.

Deviations at Petrobras

Bearing in mind that embezzlement of resources from public revenue has put many Brazilians out of work in recent years and destabilized the economy in Brazil. These amounts diverted from Petrobras could be being invested in health, education, security and job creation. As you noticed, in Vietnam they “beat their chests and say that the oil belongs to the people”. What do you think? Leave your opinions in the comments below. Source: Vietnam Net
